Difference Between Maintenance & Repair

When talking about cars / vans  you will always hear the terms maintenance and repairs.

Maintenance.

All cars require maintenance as some parts on a car need to be changed as they wear out such as oil gets dirty, fuel, air and oil filters get full and need to be replaced as well as a number of fluids essential to keep the engine and gears moving.

This maintenance of the car is usually shown in the cars manual or service information which is why your cars manufacturer insists that your car be serviced at regular intervals.

Repairs.

Repairs are needed when an essential structural or chassis part of your car has broken stopping you driving your car for either safety reasons or fails to work and needs to be repaired.
